Bridlington Town Centre and Marina SPD
The Bridlington Town Centre and Marina Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides detailed design guidance for the delivery of the development proposals set out in the Bridlington Town Centre Area Action Plan (AAP). All those proposing development within the AAP area will be required to follow the design guidance set out in the SPD. The aim of this design guidance is to assist developers in producing scheme proposals which will comply with the policies contained in the AAP.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council consulted on first and second drafts of the SPD during Aug/Sept 2009 and Apr/May 2013. Consultation responses were incorporated into a final SPD which was adopted by the Council on 9 October 2013. A Sustainability Appraisal was completed at each stage to ensure that the SPD is consistent with the aims of sustainable development. A Conservation Area Character Assessment (CACA) was also produced, which highlights significant heritage assets within the Bridlington Quay Conservation Area.
